What will your work as a Piping Designer involve?
The Plant Design department at the Echt site specialises in engineering multidisciplinary projects in the chemical, petrochemical, process, water, food, energy and other sectors. As a Piping Designer, you will work on a variety of multidisciplinary projects for clients together with your team. Under the supervision of an engineer or lead engineer, you will produce layout drawings, piping routes and simple steel structures based on the project principles. Other tasks will include drafting detailed drawings, isometric drawings, and simple calculations. In this dynamic role, you will become familiar with various disciplines and fields in which you could specialise.

You focus on both the technical and commercial aspects of projects and ask colleagues, clients and/or suppliers relevant questions as and when required. By working closely together with all parties involved, and with the support and supervision of an engineer or lead engineer, you are able to quickly find creative solutions to complex issues. Further requirements:
- A completed higher-intermediate-level or Bachelor’s level education in mechanical engineering or a similar discipline
- Interest in Plant Design and the chemical industry of tomorrow
- Experience with various 2D/3D design software packages (such as AutoCAD, Plant 3D, PDMS, SolidWorks or Inventor) is preferred
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Interest in taking additional training
- Flexible attitude and willingness to perform on-site activities at clients
- Strong communication skills and a quality-conscious attitude
- Good standard of spoken and written Dutch and English.
