Two possible causes of the damage incurred were a design error and incorrect use during commissioning. VIRO used the finite element method (FEM) to perform the analysis.
FEM calculations for lift cylinder
Nonlinear static analyses with elastic-plastic material behaviour were performed through the use of FEM calculations. A tolerance analysis was also performed. The cause of the damage was determined and presented in the final report.
