Delft Offshore Turbine (DOT) is active in the area of offshore wind turbines. While developing the lifting point for an offshore wind turbine, DOT asked the Engineering Analysis department to make the necessary design and control calculations. The lifting point can be used to hoist the DOT wind turbine in one movement and position it in just one hour.
Design calculations for the wind turbine lifting point
- Implementing design and control calculations using FEM analyses
- Reporting in brief on the findings, including advice as a second opinion
The results of these calculations were assessed in line with the DNVGL-OS-C101 standard (Design of offshore steel structures) and the DNVGL-RP-C208 standard (Determination of structural capacity by non-linear finite element analysis methods). All the findings have been reported and the wind turbine has been successfully hoisted and positioned!
