Our staff on VIRO
“I started working for VIRO immediately after graduating from HAN Automotive technical institute in Arnhem. I had no preferences for specific companies or products, except for wanting to work in the automotive industry, of course. In the final few weeks of my studies, I spoke to several employment agencies and recruiters. VIRO stood out to me, because it was clear I could start immediately. They have several internal projects that can help me develop further and secondment is an option.”
“During the third year of my mechanical engineering studies at the HAN University of Applied Sciences in Arnhem, I completed a work placement at VIRO’s Arnhem branch. I chose VIRO because it is an engineering firm that offers a vast array of services and has an extensive amount of knowledge and expertise”
“As a member of VIRO’s Engineering Analysis team, I work on a variety of projects. Each project is for a different client, which really keeps things interesting. For a part-timer like myself, VIRO is a company that offers flexibility when it comes to my hours. This enables me to achieve the best possible balance between working and spending time with my family. Thanks to the informal, pleasant atmosphere, I always enjoy going to work.”
“VIRO – the performance of technology. I always say “VIRO – the performance of people”, because it’s the people who, by working as a powerful team, develop the technology and break boundaries. At VIRO, you will not only be given the opportunity to develop as an individual, but also to show what people can be capable of when they put their heads together.”
“I’ve been with VIRO since October 2012, and I love my job. The variety of projects in the Construction & Architectural Engineering department really appeals to me. One day, I can be making calculations for a skid that is to be situated somewhere in Asia, for which earthquake and transport loads are decisive, and on another day I can be making a structural design for an apartment complex in collaboration with an architect. In these activities, I also have sufficient scope for personal development in various fields. This makes my job both enjoyable and interesting.”
“After completing a Bachelor’s in Electrical engineering and a Master’s degree in Mechatronics, Roy was asked to do a PhD. For my dissertation, I studied the application of medical robotics. I investigated needle guidance, which could potentially be used to perform a biopsy to test for cancer. When I was researching my dissertation, I went to the most beautiful places on earth and learned a lot, yet the emphasis was on publishing papers and I missed applying the knowledge. I found that all that and more at VIRO. Initially, I was rather anxious about moving from the world of research to business, but I found that it suits me very well!”
“What appeals to me about working at VIRO is the variety and the challenge. One day you might be dealing with complex thermal issues, and the next day you might be working on projects where static or dynamic issues play a role. The products, which range from precision instruments to large offshore structures, also ensure that the work remains a challenge.”
“Thanks to a combination of challenging projects, an enthusiastic team of colleagues and myriad opportunities for personal development, I feel very much at home at VIRO.”
“Working for VIRO means working on the edge of what is possible. Balancing science, empirical relationships, and finances always make it a challenging process. There is a good atmosphere that ensures we keep pushing each other onwards when it comes to knowledge and abilities, so that we are constantly adapting to the demands of time. These aspects make working for VIRO very interesting.”
“The diverse projects and growth potential within VIRO make it a very good company to work for. I have worked on various projects ranging from casing for packaging machines to offshore windmills. It is a dynamic working environment that always presents new challenges. They also help you to discover ways to improve yourself and offer several courses to help you do so. Lastly, there is such a great atmosphere as well as nice and helpful colleagues. In short, working for VIRO is a fun challenge, I feel very motivated to go to work every day.”
“VIRO engineers work with each other, learn from each other and we have fun together.”
“Through VIRO, I’ve been introduced to a variety of corporate cultures in the Netherlands and abroad, which means my job is still a challenge from both a technical and personal development perspective!”
“Variety in a permanent position, with the option to develop in the field of your choice.”
“Working at VIRO enables me to discover new aspects of my technical background. I work in a pleasant, friendly environment, where I receive excellent support.”
“As a starter I was able to develop myself immensely during the first year. VIRO supports you and tries to assign you to projects that interest you. This and the friendly working atmosphere ensure that I want to keep working here for years to come.”
